As the senior tribe, Batlokwa ba Mokgalong belong to the larger ancient and native Batlokwa nation,we tracing our origin to our parents Kgosigadi MmaThulare and Kgosi Kgwadi Tabane.
Mokgalo gave rise to the families originally found in their native Orange Free State, and later in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Through shrewd land dispossessions and forceful removals, our people were scattered far from the land of their forefathers.
The administration of the day conceded to the demands of the nation, releasing ancient land in the magisterial districts of Frankfort, Reitz, Harrismith and Vrede to Batlokwa.
Batlokwa ba Mokgalong are recognised as one of the traditional communities in the Free State Province.
The Lekgotla La Batlokwa ba Mokgalong streamlines our objectives cultural revival, economic networks, and the return of our land. Also to realise the vision of the community at large.
